Admissions Policy:

This Policy is in place to ensure Parents and team members understand the process for the allocation of places within the Nurseries.

Blue Grass Purple Cow is a privately-run Nursery offering places to children aged from 3 months to 5 years. The Nursery is open between the hours of 7:45 am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year excluding public holidays. We offer full and part time childcare provision and will where possible, accommodate Parental requests for additional sessions. We aim to respond to the needs of both Parent and child and will be as flexible and as responsive as possible.

We actively encourage Parents to visit the Nursery while sessions are in progress so they can see how we operate and the interaction between the staff and the children. It is not necessary to make an appointment for these visits; we operate an Open Door Policy.

A brochure is available to Parents on request and can be either collected from the Nursery or sent out to prospective Parents via post or email. This brochure contains information about the Nursery, photographs and contact details.

We request that Parents complete a Request for a Place Form and then they are either placed on a waiting list or offered a place if there are vacancies in the Nursery. We do not charge for being on the waiting list; however, we request that Parents keep us informed if they take up a place at another setting and no longer wish to remain on our list.

• Places will be offered on an availability basis, reflecting the sessions required and the age of the
child.

• If we are unable to meet your request for the sessions required alternative sessions will be
offered if available.

• If the alternatives offered are not suitable, you will be given the option of joining the Waiting
List.

• A £250 Registration Fee is payable to secure a place. The Registration Fee is refunded when the
child leaves Nursery.

• No Registration Fee is taken for a funded-only place. Instead, a £30 Security Deposit is levied,
which is refunded when the child leaves Nursery.

• The Waiting List is reviewed on regular basis and places will be allocated as soon as a suitable
vacancy arises.

• Children who have a sibling already attending Blue Grass Purple Cow will be given priority.

• Blue Grass Purple Cow is an Equal Opportunities provider.

Sessions are allocated in the following priority order:
1. Siblings of a current child
2. Extra sessions for a current child
3. Full time places
4. Siblings of a previous customer
5. Part time places

Before admission we will require Parents/Carers to attend a Paperwork Settle at Nursery, during which we will provide a comprehensive pack of documentation and discuss individual requirements and permissions. This provides the setting with permission for events such as the taking of photographs and detailed information about the child, enabling us to provide continuity of care where possible, as well as meeting the child's individual needs.

All children are welcomed to attend our sessions and we make no discrimination. Children and families are all valued, regardless of their ethnicity, culture, religion, disability, sex, social and economic background, etc. We demonstrate a commitment to working with Parents to provide an environment that is suitable for their child's individual needs.

Blue Grass Purple Cow cares for children with special needs and disabilities with the help of relevant coordinators and agency workers. We have wheelchair access, and a disabled toilet, though it should be noted that there may be necessary structural alterations that we would be unable to make. A full Special Needs Policy is available on request.
